A couple of weeks ago I was following the hashtag on Twitter for Affiliate Summit West and I saw a few people that I thought I may want to meet so I followed a few people. One of the people I started following was Vanessa who is also from NYC and is also into affiliate marketing. Sounds like a no brainer to me, so when she posted a link to Facebook I connected over there.
Well Affiliate Summit West came and went and I didn't meet Vanessa but after seeing her pictures from Affiliate Summit on Facebook it seemed like we were both at the same places. Kind of cool but at the same time with 4600+ people at Affiliate Summit it comes to the surprise of no one that we didn't meet. I am sure we will meet eventually at some NYC affiliate meetup or something like that.
The other day Vanessa posted to Facebook that she was looking for a new apartment in the city and if anyone knew of one to let her know. Just a few weeks before this I had been looking on the Facebook marketplace and saw that they had some good apartments so I suggested she look there. Just my nature to help other people if I can.
Here is the screenshot of our conversation from Facebook.
Not only did I try an help Vanessa but two other people also offered some really good help finding her an apartment. Now you have to keep in mind that this is NYC and trying to find an apartment is really hard. Here she is in less than 17 minutes with not only places to look but some real good leads for finding one. I am not sure how this turned out yet but I am sure Vanessa is doing ok from these suggestions.
Without Facebook and Twitter I would have never met Vanessa and/or I would never know she was looking for an apartment. The others that offered help seemed to know Vanessa already and odds are they wouldn't have known she was looking for a place either.
