Completely agree. I even went as far as unfriending people on facebook as they started advertising. I am completely ok with blogs or some established sites having google adsense as they have fees to pay, but paid tweets, are you kidding me? it is downright sleezy.

I am more ok with affiliate programs, but paid tweets is a no.

Hi Sasha

That is a good point (and I was waiting for someone to mention it) but in my twitterstream I would be forced to see your ad. I did not opt in to see the ad, I did not follow someone to see ads. It was forced on me because I followed someone that served up the ad. In my case I read the ad and then saw on the bottom that it was a sponsored tweet.

In the twitterstream that I see and more important what my followers would see if they clicked on @vinnyohare. I value my followers and don't want them to think that I endorse the practice by still following someone that serves up ads. I hope that makes sense.

I did not invite people to come here to the site and look at the ads they do that on their own, just like you did. Thanks for the comment.

I completely understand your point of view, however.... I am just curious, how would sponsored tweets that you hate so much, get along with Ads by Google (AdSense) on your right margin?

For any of the Internet applications, most of the users are expecting it to be absolutely free, and they don't even prepare to receive any advertisement, indeed even they are enjoying the services. However, if things are all free, who is going to continuously supporting the delivery of the services? I would say, it is alright to tweet for money but the way it is implemented have to be smart. I am not a smart guy anyway, therefore no idea so far. I wish I have, so that can grab some market share in this challenging Internet marketing war.
